This intranet site enabled departments to work together more seamlessly and with less duplication. For example, users could complete requisitions and orders using the site, rather than fill out paper forms, or use e-mail. The site brought together many single-user databases within the company into a central database system which made inter-departmental communication simpler and more transparent. The system was built using FileMaker Pro and custom web publishing.
